To get to a version one release that we could charge for on such a tight schedule while using an external vendor required a lot of uncomfortable decisions. With an immovable time and budget we only had scope to adjust.

We focused on building the job ad creator first, as this was the core function of the product that everything else branched from. But we also needed all the supporting functions such user management, plans and payments and job ad management as a baseline.

The idea was to build a simple drag and drop system to quickly build job ads using pre-designed blocks or modules. These were split into content ones such as embeded videos or descriptions and functional ones such as scheduling a chat with someone about the job ad.

These constraints also led us to design the job ads so they were a job ad and a career page all in one, or easily just generate a career page from existing job ads.
